What Is RSS?
RSS is a format for syndicating news and the content of web sites.
RSS is becoming very popular.
Major news and information sites all all supporting RSS.
RSS can be used for just about anything that can be broken down into a list of individual items. (News, Calendar, Classified Ads).
A RSS Reader will monitor any RSS feeds that you have set up, and notify you when the content on that site has changed!
When information is made available in RSS format, any program supporting RSS can check the syndication feed for changes.
Programs called "news readers" or "feed readers" are often used to read RSS feeds.

One example of a feed reader is GreatNews (which is also free).
Another example is FeedDemon.
FeedReader is another program that also displays RSS feeds.
