100 drivers signed up in 9 hours. Susan had trouble getting on the site around midnight. Bandwidth issues? 33 drivers at 18 past midnight when she woke me up to sign up.

There must have been some serious site issues right after midnight. I received many timeout errors while trying to register.

So did I. We're working on a fix for that. Hopefully the next registration will be a bit smoother.

That shows how hectic registration was this time. It took us 3 minutes just for the server to respond. Not a big deal, just had to wait for it cycle every couple minutes.

I didn't bring my A-game this month, 12:18.  36 already by that time.

Holy cow. Someone should be contacting Roundel to cover the autox in Boston! This is big news!

Yep I tried signing up at 12 exactly and kept getting the same error. Glad I eventually got accepted though haha.

Hey... what's goin on here anyway?  The same guys tend to make it in first... I think we need to do some testing to make sure they don't have a performance enhanced network.  You guys have any connections to that doctor that's friends with ARod?

I have his number on speed dial, if you want it. Just don't tell anyone I gave it to you...

Oh, wait, I wasn't here!

Should I be worried that I haven't received an acceptance and payment notification? It says 119 entered, 110 accepted. I received the registration confirmation after my 12:18 signup, but not the second email...

Hey Guys... Just an FYI other Bimmer chapters DO know about us and how popular our Autocrosses are... I was at the BeaveRun motorsports complex outside of Pittsburgh for an SCCA autocross event (as a spectator) In any case, i met two Allegheny Chapter members - one with an E36 323is and another with an E30 M3 who both knew of the Ft Devens events we run.. They also mentioned that one day in the future they would like to get up here to attend one of our events. Just the possibility of having a 80+ second course was mesmorizing for both of them... especially when they average 40 second courses in a big parking lot...

Although, I think it would be a great idea to get national exposure, I would be annoyed if by 1215am that the autocross was sold out!!!

Just my $.02..

Eric

Ive been wondering whats changed in the past couple years. when i started with the club in 06 i believe, it'd usually fill up but not until the final week before the event, then rather quickly events started filling up in the first week, and the last couple years its full in 12hrs or less.

did a neighboring club die and we absorbed a whole group? is there simply more interest in the sport? any ideas or insights?

I contribute it to the fact that Boston BMW runs some of the best organized autocross events of any club.  The team work that goes into making these events happen is hard to believe.  Also, they have created a classing system which allows almost any car to be somewhat competitive.

Helping run one of the other local autocross programs, i frequently reference the Boston chapter's methods, in trying to improve our club.  It seems like an impossible goal, so i don't know how they did it.  They are the benchmark everyone else is trying to reach.

I think you definitely need to attribute it to the leadership and organization.  Since Larry and Christo took over the reigns, it's never been run so well.  Also Scott is turning around timing results faster than ever.  I remember a few years ago when you wouldn't see the results for event 1 until after event 2 already finished.  Now Scott is getting results out the same night at times, which is phenominal.
