I need to replace the control arm on a 540i with Sport suspension and need the BMW special tool 312240 ball joint seperator. If anyone that has one is willing to loan or rent it I'll be happy to pick it up for aq quick job.

From the moderator: I towed this to the car-related forum in hopes of someone helping you. (You can't expect a professional mechanic to loan out his tools.)

That said, I'm wondering if you can use a regular pneumatic pickle fork, rather than a special BMW tool. At least on the E36, that's all that's needed (other than a stubby wrench and a can of expletives or two).
