I need to find a non-dealer place that does good work and is reasonably priced around the Brookline area. Any help would be appreciated.

How far are you willing to travel from Brookline?

I'd like to stay within five miles of Brookline.

I know there are some good shops in/near Natick but at least one of them is in the middle of nowhere, which becomes inconvenient if the work is going to take a while.

I recommend German Performance in Cambridge. Marc is a good guy.

Quick update: based on the recommendation I called them - no return on my vmail. A week went by, called them again - still no response. Finally, send them an email which they responded by saying they're moving and will return my calls when they complete the move following week. They never called.

Needless to say I've moved on. I went to Autobahn Automotive and got excellent service. A bit out of the way but at least they appreciate the business.

I'd advise you to check the torque on your lugnuts. I needed a 5 foot pipe on a breaker bar to loosen his after his visit there.

I like and highly recommend Gralty Auto (Dave Gralton) in Natick.  His shop is very close to the train stop in Natick for convenience.  508-653-0909

I am not affiliated with Gralty - just a happy customer.

Regards, tom
