| Hi All, I thought I would help clear up some of the confusion on this day. Chris is helping to organize a day where people can have some fun with their own cars, after having some fun with ours. The day starts with the Complete In Control Advanced Driver Training crash prevention class. You use our Camry's and learn crash prevention techniques to avoid the most common crash types. We cover ABS braking and panic stops, Steering control and effects of speed, the consequences of tailgating, the limitations of backing up, and emergency lane change techniques. We also spend time addressing attitudes associated with safe driving and the negatives of many of the distractions that we use daily on the roads. Our course is certified by the registry as a driver skills development program and because of that many of the insurance companies will offer discounts to those who complete our course. This is the same program that the Kogan's and Sigrid work with and we have several locations throughout Massachusetts. You can get more information on this class at www.driveincontrol.com. This class regularly costs $299. The additional fun happens in the afternoon. You can utilize our site and we will set up a coned course where you use your own car and have some fun for the afternoon putting the skills you learned in the AM to the test. The afternoon is meant to be a fun way to get some more practice time in your car, and is not a true competitive autocross event. Hopefully we will see some of you there, learning the latest in safety techniques, and having some fun with your own cars in the afternoon.

We decided to push the first one out to a later date.
We selected the original date with only ten days to get people involved.
The June 26th date we decided to use for new In Control program. I'll post up the information on a thread titled: In Control- Performance days. We have some new stuff to offer at the events, and these performance days will have cheaper spots available.
We are still going to be hosting the So You Think You Can Drive? In Control Challenges, the next Date is for July 24, 2009. I am working on putting together the next level of challenges.
I am calling these the So You Think You Can Drive? Road Warriors Challenge. These will be weekend road trips to various locations. I would like to set them up like a mini cannonball run. I have a couple of different ideas I'm working with. One idea is a trip from Boston to DC, starting on a Friday night ending back in Boston on a Sunday.
I got this idea after doing an overnight test drive to DC for a company I work with in NH. I started out in the afternoon one day, we got to DC in 12 hours slept four hours and returned 12 hours later. It was quite the drive, adding in an extra day (half day) will help. I will find some interesting things for us along the way. I haven't worked out the details yet.
The second idea is possibly a trip out to Michigan. I am talking to some people I know in the Industry out there to see what we can do. They have huge locations they use for vehicle testing, maybe we can get some time on a real test course. I have a lot of research to do on this one. Another stop will likely be at Cedar Point in Ohio (the Roller Coaster Capital of the World), a really fun trip in itself and also some open parking lots. This might be the challenge instead of Michigan. Possibly camping the night there, and setting up a course in one of their lots.
If I am going to challenge you on public roads, I am requiring the So You Think You Can Drive? In Control Challenge. I am going to be putting a lot of effort into reducing any costs I can for the trips, like gas, lodging, etc... I want to make sure safety is covered.
If you would like more information, or have any ideas for the challenges I would like to hear them.
Thank you for your responses. I hope your interested in putting the rubber to the pavement.
