I figured I would post some clips of the other kind of racing that I do.  I run in the spectator drags at seekonk speedway and have been doing it for 6 years now.  This is what I was running to after mid-day during last weekend's autox, but ended up being postponed later on in the day until Monday.  So here's some clips from Monday:

1st run: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVFsuQMmD_c&feature=channel_page

2nd run: www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4mpiEELZVs&feature=related

3rd run: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoXUrfqpANo&feature=related

If anyone has nothing better to do on July 5th, come check out the show.  It's got the spectator drags, free for all enduro racing, figure 8 racing, demo derby, and fireworks once it gets dark.  If you haven't seen one of these shows, you will no doubt be entertained by it!

I just may be there with the Camaro........

EDIT: Bryan...it says no convertible allowed. I can understand that for a stock car, but do you think they wouldn't let me race even with my 6-point cage, Corbeau seats, 6-point harnesses??

Yeah Rick unfortunately I think you are out of luck.  They don't allow any convertibles even with roll cages as far as I know.  They do let convertibles with hard tops in, like they let in a Miata with the hard top race last time.

It might be for the good though this event you aren't safe from a ding or even a wall.  As long as you know that going into it, it's an awesome time.

Grrr...I own cars to race them...I have no problem wrecking...that's part of the sport. I'm going to call them today anyways and see if they'd let me run.

Well wrecking isn't something I'd be too happy with personally, but I agree you buy a fast car and you should use it!

Let me know how it goes though with the phone call.  My guess is they are going to be stubborn about it.  Otherwise I'd probably have seen a convertible compete there within the past 8 or so years that I've been driving and watching.

It was cool watching your 2nd run.

Always fun to see Chevy vs. Ford!

That is so cool. I wonder how my AMG beast with 585 hp/628tq would do.
