Date: January 3, 2001

1. President's Report (Joe Marko)

  • Mike Cox will be the Safety School chair

2. Secretary's Report (Will Farnsworth)

  • Review minutes of last meeting and accept.
  • Follow up with Suzin on business cards and put up to staff to review

3. VP/Activities Report (Steve Goldstein)

  • Activities are not up and running yet. Cindy volunteered for activities? Will work this out.
  • General Meeting scheduled for 2/21 at FMW with Tom Sokowski.
  • Next meeting is open and will be nailed down soon.
  • Another announcement will be made regarding the Holiday Party. Cindy has a list of people.
  • Bimmer is in the mail now.
  • Stan Jackson said there might be ice racing 1/21.
  • Vassilis has volunteered for instructor registrar.

4. Treasurer's Report (Bruce Augenstein)

  • Income and expense report - looks like $38K in the bank. Advertising revenue is down 25% from previous year as well as uncollected revenue from advertisers.
  • We need to avoid Inserts and Post Cards - they are way too expensive.
  • Summer Picnic was expensive too.
  • A Budget will be worked on over the next few weeks between Bruce and Joe. Please pass on any budgeted expenditures to Bruce.
  • Net income for autocross is down.
  • Are there any other capital expenditures that are needed for the board to do there job? Voice yourself.
  • Carting is self-sustaining. Need to budget for awards.

5. Membership Report (Barry Tarr)

  • 2785 current members, 240 associate members for a total of 3025.
  • 71 new members.
  • Stickers will be given out by new members.

6. Communications Director Report (Justin Hughes)

  • Jan/Feb issue is together. Sent to printer 12/15.
  • An idea to incent new people to write for Bimmer would be to offer Bimmer Vests if you write an article - Vests are $45 each, need to shop around for better pricing, Steve Hazard has a couple of venders.
  • Can we have more pages than we have? Yes.
  • Regalia - kick in machine for processing credit cards - get it done - Joe and Luka.
  • Lime Rock School, need to move up date that Bimmer is in mail boxes. Denis and Justin will work issue to make this happen.
  • Greg is looking into a new e-mail system to manage email lists better.
  • Advertising has fallen by the wayside, Iron Horse will change their ad. F1 will run an ad too.
  • Suzin needs to know who has and hasn't paid for advertising. Suzin to find out who will be running in March.

7. Driving Events Report (Luka Serdar/Mike Cox/Denis Friedman)

  • Try to finish up books for driving event group for 2000.
  • Racing school in October was good. Kumo Tire is looking to sponsor this again. A combined event with NH worked well.
  • Schools are 4/3, 5/4 and with NH 4/20 and Canada in July.
  • Boston chapter to run O'Fest Drivers Schools. Brittany will be club chair. Mike Cox will spearhead Safety School. Safety School in April?
  • Autocross had a big wait list the past 8 events. This is a problem. Looking to run two tracks per event. This would entail $2,000.00 in cones and timing equipment. If we charge $20.00 per event this would help offset the additional cost. Dates are 4/14, 5/12, 6/3, 7/8, 8/26, 9/9, 9/30 and 10/28. Fort Devens is getting popular.
  • Mike Cox will do O'Fest autocross. Believe they have scheduled 4 days of autocross. Equipment and "where" are the biggest issues.

8. Karting/Grand Prix Report (Vassilis Kontoglis)

  • Divisions are running well. What can we do about awards? Vassilis needs to give board a proposal for the cost of this. See Carlos for trophies.
  • Need to get something into the next Bimmer to register for next league. this.

9. Concours Report (Dan Mull)

  • None.

11. New Business (Joe Marko)

  • Regalia - Stickers are doing the best! Send a SASE for sticker.
  • Date for next meeting is 3/15.
  • Meetings will be held on the first Wednesday of odd numbered months.

Motion to close.
