January 2000 Boston Chapter Board Meeting Minutes

Present: Fred Beck, Will Farnsworth, Dennis Friedman, Carlos Giron, Joe Marko, Jr., John Sullivan Jr., Suzin Koehler, Sue Rathbone, Maria Anggraeni, Luka Serdar, Greg Scott, and Victor Cruz.

1. Call to Order (Fred Beck):

  • Fred called the meeting to order and handed out a copy of the agenda.

2. President's Report (Fred Beck):

  • Group reviewed the Comp List. A suggestion was made to change the individual who receives the mailings from the General Manager to the Sales Manager.
  • The Group reviewed the memo from National in regards to guidelines. The following staff positions are responsible for completing the following tasks/forms:
    • Chapter Comp Listing Request - Advertising Manager - S. Koehler
    • Chapter Label Request - Advertising Manager - S. Koehler
    • Postage Reimbursement Request - Treasurer - B. Augenstein
    • Printing Reimbursement Request - Treasurer - B. Augenstein
    • Chapter Financial Statement - Treasurer - B. Augenstein
    • Chapter Officer Questionnaire - Secretary - W. Farnsworth
    • Roundel Calendar Listing - Driver's School Chair/V.P. - L. Serdar/M. Anggraeni
    • Insurance rebate Request - V.P/Treasurer - M. Anggraeni/B. Augenstein
    • Driving Events Reporting Form - Driver's School Chair - L. Serdar
    • Club Racing Accedent/Incident Report - Driver's School Chair/Event Chair - L. Serdar
    • Dealer Drive Program rebate Request - Director - J. Sullivan
    • BMW CCA/BMW NA Chapter Event Prize Request - Advertising Manager - S. Koehler
    • Charity Matching Funds - President - F. Beck
    • Chapter Incentive Program Qualification form - President/V.P. - F. Beck/ M. Anggraeni
  • Bylaws will be submitted to the State by the Secretary after the board has completed them.

3. Vice President/Activity Director's Report (Maria Anggraeni):

  • 85 Attendants for the Holiday party. Plans are to have it again next year in January. Maria will sign up the German club for the third week in January, 2001.
  • The First Quarterly meeting will have Tony Stewart or R.J. Valentine as the speaker.
  • Denis Friedman will work with Greg Scott on developing an area on the web site to have people put their emailing address to add to a Master list that Denis would maintain.
  • Insurance changes: The meeting at Dick's Auto Body will have an individual speak to the latest issue on repairs from the track through your insurance company.
  • Will Farnsworth will chair the Spring Rallye. He will get the date into the Calendar.

4. Treasurer's Report (Bruce Augenstein):

  • Currently $35K in the till plus another $8K due from the Driver's School.
  • Discussion about giving back to the club - Make events better, offer free Lunch or Breakfast, or have free event for members "Fun Day" for family. Keep the Charity events as a charity.

5. BIMMER and Web Site Report (Greg Scott/Suzin Koehler/Justin Hughes):

  • BIMMER is going well. Agreement made to investigate using photo CDs for pictures in the BIMMER.
  • Request made to have the Calendar include the Item, Contact, Phone, Day and Time of each event.

6. Ice Racing Report (Stanley and Stan Jackson):

  • The Ice is still mostly open, not good for racing yet.
  • John Sullivan will send a letter for the Parker Spooner Weekend and get this to Stan to pull together mailing to local chapter presidents to promote school.

7. Driving Event Committee (Luka Serdar/Denis Friedman/Sue Rathbone/Joe Marko):

  • Need a volunteer for the Safety/Advanced Skills Schools - Women only.
  • Boston Chapter will be doing O'Fest 2001 August 20 - 23 Driving school.
  • Discussion of Registering on-line for Mt. Tremblant - waiver must still be signed and mailed as well as the $ check. Discussion about accepting a credit card left for a future meeting.

8. Autocross Report (Fred Beck):

  • Very unlikely we will be able to use Rockingham next year. Waiting to hear from the Weymouth Naval Air Base with in the next two weeks.

9. Regalia Report (Victor Cruz):

  • None.

10. Concours Report (Dan Mull):

  • None.

11. New Business (Fred Beck):

  • Discussion that the National office may move. Proposal from other chapters has been submitted. Boston Chapter should put together a proposal to keep here. W. Farnsworth made a motion that the Directors and voting Board get together to draft a proposal for response. Motion voted on, vote was taken, motion was passed.
