Y2K is here! This is a great new beginning for all of us. Join the Boston Chapter staff members in creating a better club for you by getting involved directly. You can chair an event, write articles, come up with ideas or just come to more events. If you haven't been involved before, this is a great year to start. By getting involved, you gain much more than what you give: A lot of unforgettable memories and great long-lasting friendships. So pick up the phone or email us.
Since we just left the twentieth century, let me start this twenty-first century by giving you some places to go to turn those wheels around. Let's celebrate the Millennium together! On Saturday, January 8th, we will have our Millennium Holiday Party at the German Club in Walpole from 6 pm to 9 pm. Bring your family and meet all your old and new friends! Do not miss this party! If you haven't called me to RSVP, please contact me and check our web site for more information. After all the food and the fun indoors, let's go outdoors! On Sunday, January 23rd, our first Ice Race of the season will start. The Ice Racing season will include five events, scheduled on Sundays through April, including the Parker Spooner Memorial Ice Race on February 20th. Ice Racing is very sensitive to the weather, so please check the Boston Chapter Hotline, (781) 894-8766, and our web site for the latest event status. For more information and registration, please contact Stan Jackson Jr. After years of owning my BMW, I just realized that mine has OBD I. If your understanding of OBD I and OBD II is limited like myself, then mark your calendar. On Saturday, January 29th is our date for OBD II Tech Session, which will be held at Robert Bentley Publishers in Cambridge. The session will start at 10 am and end at 2 pm. I encourage you to come to this event, whether or not your car has OBD II. Please check our Hotline for event confirmation. For more information and direction, please contact Charles Burke at (800) 423-4595. If you are looking for more enjoyment while driving, then this event is for you. On Wednesday, February 9th, Rich's Car Tunes Inc. will host a/d/s Car Audio Tech Session from 6 pm to 9 pm in Watertown. a/d/s and Rich's Car Tunes team up together to present and discuss a performance audio system. For more information and direction, please call Rich Inferrera at (617) 923-1490 or www.cartunes.com. Let's take a break from the cold. Come to our First Quarter General Meeting and get warm. It will be held on Wednesday, February 23rd, at BMW Gallery in Norwell, Mass from 6 pm to 9 pm. This is a new location for this event, and the speaker for this meeting will be a very nice surprise for you as we celebrate our first quarter meeting in the Millennium. This promises to be a great event, so mark your calendar now. As we start the millennium we have new events coming up this year. We are working together with Bob Sweeney Jr. to have some events in Rhode Island. We also have dates for our first Women-Only Safety School and our first Friendship Night this year. So keep your eyes and ears open! There is more, much more, but we need you. So get involved and let's keep this club getting stronger and bigger! See you at the next event!
