First Annual Team Boston Kart Challenge Boston Chapter Safety, Advanced Skills and Driving School |
Summer has gone by so fast... too fast. But the fun has just barely begun. We have quite a few events coming up this month. Spend your Saturday on October 2, 1999 with us. We have Car Detailing Tech Session at APEX Automotive Engineering in Marlborough from 12 noon to 4 pm. Those who want to learn more about keeping their cars in clean and mint condition in and out should come to this event. If you need more information and direction please check our web site or call Ray Williams at (617) 472-3264. This is a joint event between our chapter and Mass Miata Car Club.
For those who want more action, Team Boston with sponsorship from Dino USA have worked together to have The First Annual Team Boston Kart Challenge in Devens, MA. This is a full day event and everyone with valid driver's license can participate. All profits and pledges will go to Children's Hospital in Boston. For more information and for registration, please contact Mark Forester. To end the fun day; we will have our Annual Fall Wine Tasting to meet new people and learn few things about wine from an experienced wine steward. It will be held at the house of Denis and Linda Friedman in Acton MA from 7 pm to 10 pm. There will be a nominal fee of $8-$10 to cover the cost of the wine and participants are asked to bring Hors d'Oeuvres. Due to limited space please RSVP to me. We have plenty to do for this day, so plan to attend at least one of these events. On October 3, 1999 Bavarian Autosport will host its Show and Shine '99 in Portsmouth , NH from 10 am to 2 pm. This event is a White Mountain Chapter event but of course, everyone is welcome. For those who thinks that his/her car ought to be on the show... bring it to the show! On October 10, 1999, Boston Chapter Safety, Advanced Skills and Driving School will be held in New Hampshire International Speedway. If you have never been to any BMW CCA Driving School, don't miss this one! If you are not in the driver's side; you can always watch how the school goes and you might want to join on the next BMW CCA Driving School. For more information, please contact Luka Serdar at serdar@boston-bmwcca.org. We will have our Sixth Annual Leaf Peeping Fun Rally on October 16-17. This is a great way to enjoy the beauty of the car and of the nature with your significant other. The rally will start at 8 am at the Route 95 rest area at the Massachusetts/New Hampshire border. October 21, 1999 is the closing date to register for Autocross 8 at Rockingham Park which will be held on October 24. Since the number of cars is limited, please register early. October 23, 1999 BMW Gallery in Norwell will host a Dinan Tech Session. There will be a technician from Dinan who will diagnose your car with DIS System. On November 6, 1999 William Turner and Steve Fitzgerald will speak on our Racing Talk which will be held at Boston Performance Group in Allston from 10 am to 2 pm. They will talk of their experience in professional racing. For those who are interested in Club Racing should come to this event. I also invite those who are already in the Club Racing to come to share your experience with other enthusiasts. We are working on having Friendship Night where people can meet each other and at the same time enjoy a buffet dinner with food prepared by fellow members. We are also working on having a Holiday Party this year. We need your help. If you want to help, please don't hesitate to contact me. Other events we are working on are to have a tech session in the Fall and an Autocross in Spring in Rhode Island. If you want to get involved, just pick up the phone and call.
