May Event Reportby Fred Beck |

While I don't have the resources to write a full article on every event that we hold, I would like to report on a few events we held in May. First we held the Spring Cleanup and Autobody Tech Session at Sansossio's Autobody. While rain threatened, it held off and 30 or so members had a great time cleaning up their cars, swapping stories, and asking Filipo Sansossio and his staff numerous questions about autobody repair and painting. I even had time to install a new center resonator on my '02! Sansossio's does great work, so stop in and see them if you're in the neighborhood. The following weekend the Undercarriage Tech Session at Mighty Motors was another great success. It was a beautiful day, and Jim Albright stayed until 6 pm so that all 23 or so cars could receive a thorough checkout. Most cars had at least one or two minor repairs required, mine included. Most people hung around much of the day, and again many tall tales were swapped, and good contacts made. As a local and National Technical Advisor, Jim provides a great service for our Club. Stop in and say "Hi" and "thanks" to him, too. Our Memorial Day Caravan to Lime Rock Park was a great success. The day was clear and warm, and the traffic surprisingly light. In all 15 cars made the journey, and we saw an excellent day of racing. The Prototype Technology Group BMW E36 M3's qualified and finished 1-2-3 in GT3 in the newly-titled CanAm series. Great job, guys! Special congratulations to Hans Stuck for being victorious once again at Lime Rock Park, where he dominated the field in the mid-70's in his batwing BMW 3.0 CSL. Be sure to join us for this event again next year!
