I wouldn't hold your breath for an April Glen event. The response last year wasn't strong and we got snowed out. While the event schedule is still being worked on, I don't expect an April Glen event. Of course, we have the September Oktoberfest event... :D

And, yes, the change in ownership of NHIS has complicated things a little. Behind the scenes, people like Joe and Luka (and the Driving Events committee in general) are hard at work lining up a solid 2008 Boston Chapter schedule. I'm sure details will be sent in an e-mail blast and/or posted in this forum as soon as they are nailed down.

Is the change in ownership of NHIS (now NHMS or something) going to effect this years schedule at all?

While the driving events committee is still sorting out the exact track schedule for 2008, one thing is certain: Boston's traditional September driving school at Watkins Glen will be incorporated into the Oktoberfest.

O'fest will including the traditional Boston Chapter driving school days on Wednesday, September 24th and Thursday the 25th, to be followed by 3 more days of driving schools on the traditional Genessee Valley Chapter days of Friday through Sunday.

There are plans for a club racing SCHOOL on the Wednesday and Thurday and actual club racing on Fri-Sun.

There may also be other events, such as rally, autocross, and certainly a concourse.

If you haven't been to the Glen, or even if you haven't driven at the track, this is a great opportunity. Watkins Glen is very historic. There is a good amount of other stuff for spouses, too (Spa, Wineries, the gorge of Watkins Glen State Park (spectacular), Corning Glass Museum, etc.)

If you are a Boston Chapter member, I hope you'll be joining in the fun at this big event.
