The weather was perfect and the course was fast. Thanks to all who worked to get the event together. I think it went fairly smooth considering the huge number of cars that were running. I also think Susan had what has to be the best spin of the year. I heard Hoosiers screaming and looked over to see her doing a major spin going into the timing lights and stop box, course workers running over to clean up the cone carnage. I don't know how she did it but the run was clean, not one cone touched.

I thought this whole year was the best year in a while.  Larry and Christo and the autox committee did a great job.  Any day with no lightning is a great autox day.

The course working was no doubt as tough as it was last time.  Gotta say that these last two events were the biggest challenges I've had at the timing computer as far as cones being hit and DNF's occurring.  There's no getting around it... it gets impossible to call everything in if every car hits multiple cones or goes off course.  I thought the course workers did a great job.

My only gripe that I had was a lot of course workers have their priorities backwards as far as setting cones back up and cars coming.  This is what happened a lot yesterday.  Car mows down a whole gate or two, like 5 cones... course worker runs out and sets cones up as fast as possible regardless of the cars coming.. car is red flagged... course worker is still setting up cones.. car behind that gets red flagged... cones are finished being set up... cars are not moved along... multiple reruns occur extending the time of the event by 5-10 minutes.

I'll put this bluntly... if theres a car coming...  get the f*** out of the way!  Cars have the right of way.  No one should ever be setting up cones assuming a car is just going to stop for you.. not only do you put yourself in danger but you are causing a chain reaction of red flag situations and causing multiple reruns.

This is how it's supposed to go.  Car mows down gate... course worker goes to reset as many cones as they can.. car is coming so course worker gets out of way... car stops at cones down.. gets rerun.. moves along.. course worker sets up rest of cones.....  if multiple are hit down then someone else in your corner can assist.  In most cases.. you should only have to give up one rerun... unless someone destroys a chicago box or something

Ha yeah, we were pretty busy in the tent (mostly during the AM). I think there were over ~25 DNF's for run group 1 in the AM?

Nice work Bryan in somehow tracking it all

Bryan, tell us how you really feel. We will need to save some of that for next season. I also think the corner boss should have a referees whistle to signal the other workers. Need to bring your own whistle though. Taser or paint ball gun could come in handy also.

Corner 4 sure confused a lot of drivers and I don't know why so many went OC there. You sometimes wonder "what were they thinking?". Memory fails when I think back to getting lost so many times when I started.

It's strange but the course was somehow a tad bit confusing the first two times I went out there.  Once I got used to it, I was all set.  I would have never thought so when walking the course though.
