Autocross Registration Information

Driver Eligibility

The 2005 Autocross Series is open to Boston Chapter BMW CCA members only. Please do not attempt to enter the Boston Chapter Autocross Series unless you are eligible.

If you aren't a member of the Boston Chapter BMW CCA, and you participate in the autocross, you are required to join BMW CCA before registering for the event. BMW CCA membership is $40 per year. You don't have to own a BMW to be a member of the BMW CCA.

Warning: We will be very carefully checking BMW CCA membership cards at the gate. Remember to bring your BMW CCA membership card to every event.

Drivers who do not show up for events, who don't pay, or who don't follow the rules may be banned from the Autocross Series.

Drivers must hold a valid drivers license and be 16 years of age or older. If you are 16 or 17 you will need to have your parents or guardians sign the "minor waiver" form in order to participate in this low-speed, non-racetrack event. We strongly encourage parents of minor drivers to attend these events.

Multiple drivers of a car are allowed, as long as each driver is registered separately.

Registrants will be limited to one entry per person, unless there is room at the close of registration. If there is room, one driver may enter multiple cars, as long as each car is registered separately.

Event Registration

There have been many registration changes for 2005, so please read these instructions carefully.

The Boston Chapter Autocross Series is comprised of eight timed autocross events for the season's championship, and a Test and Tune Day.

All events require preregistration and payment in advance. Each event requires a payment of $25. There will be no refunds under any circumstances. You are not fully registered for an event until you have paid for the event.

You must register for each event. Each event has its own registration opening and closing date. Registration remains open until about 5 days before the event is run. However, we typically sell out events weeks in advance.

If you make changes to your car during the season that causes your class to change, or you want to switch cars during the season, you must register again and be assigned a new number and class.

Please note that MINI is considered a BMW by the Autocross Committee. BMW/MINI drivers should begin the registration process using the Self Classification Form.

No-Show Policy

If you cannot attend an event, you must notify the Autocross Registrar at autocross@boston-bmwcca.org at least 5 days before the event. If you register for an event, then not show up without informing the Autocross Registrar at least 5 days in advance, you are considered a no-show and your name is placed on the Red List.

Two appearances on the Red List will result in a ban of four Boston Chapter Autocross events. The ban will extend into the next season if needed.

Event Payment

The Boston Chapter has chosen PayPal for payments for the Autocross Series. People find that PayPal is easy to use, free, and secure. You can pay using a bank account or your credit card. PayPal no longer requires that you create a PayPal account. You can just pay with your credit card and be done with it.

The entry fee for each car/driver is $25. The Autocross Registrar will send you a "payment request" email within 3 days of registration. You are not completely registered until you have paid.

The "payment request" email will contain a link which will bring you back to the Boston Chapter web site, where you will see a "pay now" button.

After clicking on "pay now", you will be sent to the PayPal web site. You can login to your existing PayPal account or create a new account. After you complete the automated payment process, you are marked as paid. In the unlikely event you can't use PayPal for payment, please contact the Autocross Registrar at autocross@boston-bmwcca.org.

There will be no refunds under any circumstances.
